So what do I know about love and soulmates?
I've always had to learn about life the hard way. So it was with love. For the first half of my life I followed absolutely the wrong path, career, lifestyle, relationships and for that matter, money. Then disaster struck and I lost everything and I was literally homeless, unexployed and penniless. And single again. It's when the pennies dropped, finally, and I found my true purpose in life. Suddenly I was experiencing an intense and meaningful relationship with a soul mate ... from opposite sides of the planet. She lived in New Jersey, me in Australia. For 6 months I found myself living in a luxury apartment on the banks of the Hudson River across the GWB from NYC. Then a second equally intense relationship appeared with a nurse from the north of Italy with the voice of Sophia Loren. (It's okay, not at the same time.) Rome, Venice, Florence, Sienna, Milan, the Italian Riviera, I was there. Small miracles occurred, still with nothing (for 5 years I lived in a friend's old caravan parked by the roadside in the Aussie bush). In spite of my unlikely situation I was having more adventures and more life experiences than in the days when I thought I had everything. So after searching for answers here's my conclusion ... learned the hard way (again). As soon as we know our life's purpose - and start living it - our life changes instantly and we begin to attract those players whose souls agreed to share our performance (read: our lives) and assist us in our true purpose in life. I call them soul agreements - author Caroline Myss refers to them as 'sacred contracts.' They are our true soul mates or twin souls. But there's a bitter irony to soulmates. As Caroline Myss writes, "The popular term 'soulmate' applied to one's ideal romantic partner, doesn't begin to capture truth; in fact, we all have many soulmates who play very different roles in our life. Perhaps 'noble friend' is a better term. These are the people you are not simply destined but are required to meet." I invite you to read my more detailed Squidoo lens packed with helpful resources, think about your own life, and decide whether it's leading you where you'd like to go. Which includes love, happiness, freedom, achievement and whatever else you expect from life. So what happened, I hear you asking. Well, I've written the whole story, in every small detail, in my revealing 204 page self-published soft cover book or e-book if you're interested. Good luck.
